Re-adjust Your Focus

When looking through a lens of any kind, telescope, microscope, camera, … along with proper lighting, the most important thing is focus. It doesn’t matter what’s on the other side of the lens, if it’s out of focus, you do not see whatever it is, as it really is. If the focus is way off, you may be unable to distinguish what you’re seeing. If it’s slightly out of focus, it may be just blurry or fuzzy enough to be annoying. Surely, you agree that precise visual focus is important, yes?

The same is true of our view of the life experience. Mental focus scales your thought processes, hence, the effects of what your thoughts produce. In other words, your thinking creates your reality. Definite focus is the difference between understanding and misunderstanding, being on point or emotionally and mentally scattered, peace and agitation, frustration, and distress. Ultimately in whatever the situation may be, internal peace is what we’re after.

We are spiritual beings crisscrossing the human experience. Unlike the new technology, we do not have auto-focus on our spiritual eyes. The lens of our spirit needs continual attention to maintain the clearest and sharpest focus in order to see things the way they really are.

Background Noise

We pick up on background noise. The disconcerting rhythms of social unrest, clamoring voices of demands, shouts of doubt, fear, anger, complaining, disagreements, even the subconscious whispers from our own belief systems, all of that and more, create negative vibrations that cause our focus to blur. We need to refocus.

Time vs. Eterrnity

Now, today, the experience you’re going through is simply a moment, and undefined period of time. Undefined because while in it, you have no idea how long it will last. You’re looking, trying to focus on a measurement of time. How long will it be? When will it end? To be immersed in the prevailing external energy of the moment is unsettling. For as long as your focus is on the external situations and allowing your peace to be contingent upon external “right” happenings, you’re quite frankly, screwed. BUT, it does not have to be that way. You have the power to make a different choice in any given moment and change the trajectory of your life.

Adjust Your Lens

Think of it this way. Everything changes. Nothing stays the same. This that you/we are going through is a moment in time, a moment that has an end. Focus the eyes of your mind on where we actually exist. We live in foreverness. We live in the endlessness of the future. We live in eternity, time (if you will) that is so far out there that you cannot see an end because there is no end.

When you readjust your lens to focus on eternity instead of the moment, you see things differently. You think differently. You feel things differently. You decide differently. A peace settles in. When you find that sweet spot of peace you begin to imagine a different reality. The eyes of your imagination see possibilities that were previously out of focus or simply out of sight. When you adjust your focus you see yourself and those whom you love in a different future and you begin to do the things that will make it real.
