Jesus and the disciples had to go through the storm to get to the other side. The storm wasn’t personal. The storm would have happened whether they decided to sail or stay home. The decision to go to the other side was the personal choice.
How often have you said, “What just happened?” or “How did I land in this mess?” You’ve asked that question at least once in your life. Be honest; no one’s listening except yourself.
The list goes on and on. Before you go negative, thinking this is a “you brought it on yourself” rag, IT IS NOT. Quite the contrary.
Everything is as it should be.
Everything that happened was supposed to happen,
when it happened, just as it happened.
Stay with me. I didn’t say, everything that happened was/is a good, fair or deserving. Nor did I say you should feel joyful about crappy situations in which you may find yourself. I am saying, be still a minute and look for God. Look for God not just to bring you out and make everything good again. Look for the Spirit energy orchestration in the bigger picture of your life, not just in the microcosm of your situation. Be still and go back beyond your wonder of how you got where you are; back further than the moment the situation came upon your life.
The Bible says, “All things work together for the good …” OK, at times that isn’t a welcomed scripture. It can sound like an empty platitude. I get it. But wait.
Be still for a minute, even in the midst, or the wake of your pain. In pain it’s easy (natural) to be angry, to blame yourself or others. Be still for a minute. Digest the thought, “You asked for it.”
We’ve prayed many earnest and fervent prayers we’ve forgotten or lost faith in; perhaps discouraged by the wait and just moved on. NEWFLASH! Once you put something out into the Universe, it begins gathering the necessary pieces (component parts) to create that for which you’ve asked. You may have forgotten, but the words remain alive with power and energy.
“Sounds never dissipate, they only recreate in another space and time.” [paraphrase] “I Write a Song” - Earth, Wind, and Fire.
Based on your expressed desire or prayer, the terrain or pathway through which you must navigate and pass through to get to your desire is there so that you may have the experiences necessary to develop and bring forward the “who/what” you must become to live, and have dominion in the manifestation of your desire.
To explain hard life challenges, some say, God put me through this or that. Think with me for a moment. I’m not asking you to believe it, only consider the thought. You asked for it – so – your desire may require it. You asked or set a platinum level desire. There’s a pathway to get there.
Example: The top of Mt. Everest has a breathtakingly beautiful view many would like to see in person, but only a fraction will ever climb to the top. To get to the top, one must climb, struggle, bare extreme temperatures, and adverse conditions, etc. The climb is the climb; the conditions are the conditions. It isn’t personal. Anyone who desires to see the view from the top, must climb the mountain.
I’m suggesting that what we go through isn’t necessarily personal, but part of the landscape in the journey for anyone who has set platinum level destinations in their spiritual GPS. You asked for it; you’ve got to go through the terrain to get where you want to go. Trust God. God would not mismanage your life.
